  • A bit dreary and tedious

I started listening a couple of months ago and really enjoy the interviews with runners. The only problem is that to listen to them you have to trudge through the half and hour or so of weekly update of ‘ooh my breakfast was too hot and my knee was a bit niggly before my long run’ or ‘I bought a meal deal on the way home from swimming’ which doesn’t grab my attention at all. Despite this the podcast is well presented and produced but not for me.

  • The AI for the episode description and guest intros is terrible. Other than that solid running chat but #ad heavy

  • Great Listen

Great listen when out for a long run. Don’t know how they stay so cheery and fresh for two hours every week. Love listening to the interviews. My favourite podcast at the moment.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Fi Pascall - 2026 Western States Preview #207
Q: Can you describe the mental strategies you use at the start lines to deal with stress and imposter syndrome?
Fi practices breathing, visualizations of her dogs at dawn, and maintains a calm, steady rhythm to reduce anxiety before pushing into the race, highlighting the role of mental state in endurance performance.
Fi Pascall - 2026 Western States Preview #207
Q: How did you handle the heat during Western States, and what impact did ice have on your race?
Ice was crucial in keeping core temperature down; she used multiple ice pockets and a bandana to stay cool at aid stations, which helped manage hyperglycemia and maintain performance in extreme heat.
Fi Pascall - 2026 Western States Preview #207
Q: What was your approach to the race plan at Western States, and did you have a time in mind?
The plan was to stay conservative for the first part, target a top-10 finish, and gradually pick up pace in the latter stages, relying on a strong crew and pacing to sustain performance rather than blasting from the start.
Sophie Power - The Power Within #209
Q: What has meant the most to you running-wise?
UTMB stands out as a race that changed her life, not for simply finishing, but for what it spurred in her career, advocacy, and the global reach of She Races.
Punk Panther Endurance Events #203
Q: What makes a first-time participant feel supported at your races?
Clear, comprehensive race instructions, permissive and well-communicated land permissions, a relaxed policy on deferrals, and a culture where questions are answered helpfully; we want finishers to have a positive day regardless of pace.
