Metal Dave and Jason do a fantastic job with this podcast. This is absolutely my favorite music podcast. Big fan of the Toys and was lucky to see them several times.

I would love for you all to interview Salty Dog. I know Jason was a fan of this band. Michael Hannon would be a great interview. No complaints here and keep up the excellent work!!!

This is great stuff. Most podcasts are boring drivel that loses my interest. I got into the game late and went back to the beginning and started from Episode 1. Keep up the greatness Jared, Jason and Dave!!!

  • Great Listen!

I’m really enjoying listening to Dave and Jason talk rock. Both bring a unique perspective that would interest any rock enthusiast....from the common fan all the way up to the veteran rock musician. Great insights, facts, and personal experiences that you won’t here anywhere else. I’m just getting started, but I’m going to listen to every episode!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Craig Locicero of Forbidden
Q: How did Forbidden come to collaborate with new players like Chewy and Norman Skinner?
Craig explains that Chewy joined after Steve Smythe stepped back, bringing a strong writing and playing contribution without fully rewriting the material, while Norman was brought in to handle lead vocals after exploring other options and proving a strong fit in rehearsals and live settings.
Corrosion of Conformity
Q: Is it fair to call the new album a bookend to your career, given the mix of old and new styles?
The intent was to blend the band's history into one cohesive statement without choosing sides; it serves as a synthesis of the early hardcore thrash with the newer, heavier metal approach rather than a simple capstone.
Del James
Q: Who would you love to write lyrics with?
Del expresses a desire to write with Eric Danielson from Watain but acknowledges that Eric doesn't need any help in that area.
Del James
Q: What's been the biggest spinal tapper, oh shit, last minute crisis that you had to remedy with Guns N Roses?
Del shares an anecdote about chartering a plane in Russia during the Chinese Democracy Tour where they had to wait for the pilots to get their hours back.
Del James
Q: Consensual Violence is a graphic novel. How does it go from concept to the finished product?
Del explains that it originally started as a movie script and transitioned into a graphic novel with the help of collaborators who taught him the process of writing comic scripts.
