I listened to a couple of episodes and enjoyed them. Then I got to the episode called “British and Proud”, or something like that. It was so racist I have no words to even explain it, as well as being very violent at the end and indulging in a profound level of specifically sexual violence that is also beyond my ability to address. I will, obviously, never listen to another episode of this disgusting production ever again.
It’s a shame they update so infrequently, because I’ve yet to see an anthology horror podcast get even close to the level of production and scares that Larry Fessenden et al conjure with these episodes.
Love Tales From Beyond the Pale- the perfect listen. Thrilling and interesting stories, comforting like radio plays from way back- great sound and storytelling!
I’m SO glad Tales is back! What incredible writing and performances. It’s so hard to find new ways to do horror, but every story is riveting, like tasty little morsels of terror. Fessenden and McQuaid are amazing. Love it!
Only wish I had found it sooner. Compelling anthology series with horror bona fides as creators and actors. So good!

This show curates lavishly produced horror audio that ranges from eerie, character-driven tales to more surreal, body-horror yokes. Episodes frequently feature collaborators from Glass Eye Pix and other indie horror circles, with behind-the-scenes insights into writing, directing, and sound design for audio drama. Noteworthy are live-show memories, budget-friendly creativity, and a strong emphasis on atmosphere and storytelling craft that feels like modern radio theatre. The format often blends noir or folk-hant storytelling with contemporary horror sensibilities, making it appealing to listeners who love cinematic soundscapes and tightly written finales.
A standout element is the ensemble approach: a recurring duo of creators curates and ... more
