Reviews

4.8 out of 5 stars from 30 ratings
  • Terrible editing

Content is very good, guests are very good, but the podcasts is unlistenable. The ads will interrupt mid sentence and play at 200% volume. Problem has been ongoing for months now but I guess nobody cares

Canada’s trade impact program, one year later
Q: Have you seen uptake on existing programs before TIP, and did the TIP announcement act as a wake-up call?
Alison explains that TIP built on a long history of trade diversification and suggests that awareness and uptake of related programs increased as the new, targeted support for hard-hit sectors became clearer.
Canada’s trade impact program, one year later
Q: So how are you feeling about the program after a year? Is it doing what you expected it to do?
Alison Nankivell responds that the program shows commitment to Canadian exporters and has already deployed a significant portion of its allocation, helping hundreds of companies in hard-hit sectors and enabling better working capital to explore new markets.
‘Blind spots’ in Canadians’ personal finances
Q: What are some of the other big blind spots around debt besides interest rates?
There's a tendency for people to view debt as a normal part of life and to underestimate the long-term impact of carrying debt, which can prevent them from tackling both the interest and the principal and escaping the cycle.
‘Blind spots’ in Canadians’ personal finances
Q: What do people need to understand about rates in terms of how it affects their debt levels?
A basic, clear distinction between simple and compound interest is crucial; compound interest means interest compounds on top of principal and accumulated interest, leading to exponential growth of debt over time, especially if people only make minimum payments.
Rising rates squeeze small and mid-sized business
Q: Mortgage holders have felt it. How are businesses experiencing it?
Businesses are facing higher costs across rent, fuel, and payroll, with regional and sector variations; many are prioritizing supplier relations and seeking credit facilities to keep doors open.
