Clearly an indictment of our recent lack of success are the utterly over the top plaudits for Jacob Bethell. His current record is 6 first innings in tests for 55 runs and 5 of those at number 3 for 49 runs!!! Yet he’s being compared to Gower, Thorpe and even Lara!
