Is she referring to the TESLA Supercharger Network that TESLA installed along the Trans Canada Highway? Those chargers are 250W. In reality, there are no other installed chargers along that highway (or any other highway, besides more Tesla Superchargers). Tesla has been building up their global charging infrastructure for the past 9 years. As a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Case for a Canadian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy
Q: Which sectors are prioritized and why?
The initial six sectors—electricity, buildings, transportation, mining, manufacturing, and agriculture and forestry—were chosen for their emissions impact, decarbonization potential, and capacity to enable cross-sector decarbonization, with oil and gas addressed in a later phase due to its complexity.
The Case for a Canadian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy
Q: How will the taxonomy impact funding and capital allocation in Canada?
By providing standardized, comparable criteria, it reduces the patchwork approach, improves investor confidence, attracts foreign capital, and guides use of proceeds and disclosure to support decarbonization across key sectors.
The Case for a Canadian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy
Q: What is the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy and why do we need one in Canada?
The taxonomy classifies investments and economic activities into green, transition, and an abatement category to provide clear guardrails, reduce uncertainty, attract capital, and align with Canada's net-zero goals and the Paris Agreement, while remaining independent of government policy goals.
Nature Is Critical Infrastructure for Businesses, Cities, and Communities
Q: How are financial institutions participating in scaling nature-based solutions and what is the future of this collaboration?
Banks, insurers, and investors are financing nature restoration through loans, bonds, and blended finance, with increased collaboration between financial institutions, NGOs, and private companies to fund resilience and nature-positive initiatives.
Nature Is Critical Infrastructure for Businesses, Cities, and Communities
Q: What does leadership look like in corporate sustainability strategy when integrating nature-based approaches?
Leaders bake nature-based solutions into everyday growth plans, treat them as core strategy, and collaborate across sectors rather than trying to do everything alone, creating measurable, defensible outcomes that resonate with investors and communities.
