  • Charging “from coast to coast”

Your guest from Suncor mentioned that her company had installed electric chargers along the highway “from coast to coast”, with a maximum charge of 250W. Is she referring to the TESLA Supercharger Network that TESLA installed along the Trans Canada Highway? Those chargers are 250W. In reality, there are no other installed chargers along that highway (or any other highway, besides more Tesla Superchargers). Tesla has been building up their global charging infrastructure for the past 9 years. As a... more

What’s Next for Sustainable Finance and Investment
Q: What are the dominant themes in sustainable finance right now?
The guests describe a shift toward practical, business-centric considerations, with emphasis on energy transition, capital allocation efficiency, and the evolving disclosure and taxonomy landscape to support decision-useful information for investors.
Turning Organic Waste into Permanent Carbon Removal
Q: What do you see as the biggest problem with how organic waste is managed today, and why does it matter for communities and the environment?
The main issue is that much organic material is not treated as waste in the traditional sense but as underutilized feedstock; landfilling and spreading of biosolids create contamination and ongoing emissions, so transforming these residues into useful, carbon-sequestering products can reduce pollution, lower costs for waste generators, and cut emissions.

Q: What other examples of innovative technology are you seeing emerge and what are the tailwinds behind them?
They discuss electrification, autonomous and robotic systems, and the integration of physical AI into farming and logistics, highlighting how these technologies enable cheaper, faster, better decision-making across supply chains and infrastructure, with China and Europe as notable regional drivers.
Investment Opportunities in Food, Energy and Oceans During the 10,000-Year Megatrend
Q: Could you touch briefly on your investment theses around systems change for energy and oceans?
The guest explains that their thesis centers on backstopping market gaps with fit-for-purpose capital, using multi-stage financing to support scalable, innovative technologies in energy and oceans, and prioritizing companies that can demonstrate EBITDA-positive trajectories with flexible capital structures.
Powering the AI Economy Without Losing Community Trust
Q: Microsoft introduced a community-first approach to data center development. Can you describe the program and how it relates to building trust with host communities?
The guest notes Microsoft's five-point plan to address community concerns—paying for their own power, minimizing water use, investing in local workforce training, boosting local tax bases, and funding AI training—while acknowledging that specifics and execution details remain to be seen and that transparency is critical for trust.
