Sunday Morning Matinee -- formerly Technicolor Jesus -- is a podcast about movies and ministry for pastors, preachers, and Sunday school teachers, brought to you by the Christian Century. Hosts Matt Gaventa and Adam Hearlson choose movies from across the history of film and discuss how these movies might connect to the coming Sunday scripture from the Revised Common Lectionary.

The podcast covers recent box office hits, classics, and even more obscure titles. It's a great conversation between faith and pop culture, between God's story and Hollywood stories. A must-listen!!
This is a great podcast. The hosts are very thoughtful, opening up new insights about films. It is theologically nuanced, culturally relevant, and funny. I highly recommend this for all who care about movies, Jesus, or preaching.
Billed as a film podcast for preachers and Sunday school teachers, Matt and Adam deliver creative and smart cinema discussions that need not be limited to the clergy. As a layperson who goes to church only sporadically (but remains at all times intellectually and spiritually curious about film and literature), I find Technicolor Jesus to be fun and accessible. Keep the good work, guys!
I’m not really into movies or preaching, but I love this podcast with all my heart.
Church & Film. Theater & Story. So many threads in common. All pointing to human experience & God' gift of Word. Thank you. Preachers need Preachers.
