  • Steroids Podcast

This show is addicting. I listen to it all day. Driving working out, working. You will learn so much true information. Rather than lies or fear mongering. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to do things safely with the proper ancillaries. Dieting, weightlifting, and steroids. So much about how you natural body/hormones work too. A++

Dan is really cool too. Good guy for sure.

  • Effects and assessment of hormones in the body

Episode 77 was the best Episode so far. Detailed information about what steroid users can do to minimize health problems. Dan explains very detailed how certain hormones and medications work in the body. I am especially interested in further elaboration about joint health. Thank you for this Podcast!

Why Bodybuilders Try But Fail - How to Fix Your Bodybuilding Problems - Bodybuilding Podcast Ep. 80
Q: Morgan asks whether high or low testosterone is better for cutting and how that affects strength, seeking guidance on optimal TRT dosing during cutting.
For cutting, lower to moderate testosterone doses are recommended due to appetite stimulation and metabolic effects; higher doses can increase appetite and hinder cutting. A practical range suggested is approximately 325–750 mg per week to balance strength and fullness without overwhelming appetite, with adjustments based on individual response and goal alignment.
Why Bodybuilders Try But Fail - How to Fix Your Bodybuilding Problems - Bodybuilding Podcast Ep. 80
Q: Josh reports bursting blood vessels in the face during heavy lifts and asks for guidance on health risks and how to prevent this.
Blood pressure spikes during heavy lifting can be extreme, especially with stimulants. The host advises stopping stimulants and focusing on blood pressure management, noting that sustained high BP combined with steroid use and growth hormone can contribute to cardiovascular risk. He recommends medical evaluation for persistent high BP and emphasizes avoiding dangerous combinations that elevate risk, as well as improving overall cardiovascular health to reduce such events.
Why Bodybuilders Try But Fail - How to Fix Your Bodybuilding Problems - Bodybuilding Podcast Ep. 80
Q: Joe asks about enlarged prostate concerns with steroid use and asks for tips beyond the guide to mitigate prostate issues.
Prostate and urinary issues are important side effects to monitor. Controlling estrogen and DHT balance is crucial; when edema or enlargement occurs, reducing estrogen with medications may help, and addressing pelvic floor health can improve urinary function. It's critical to monitor symptoms and consult a clinician if urinary frequency or urgency worsens. The host emphasizes that prostate health should be a priority and to avoid ignoring symptoms.
Why Bodybuilders Try But Fail - How to Fix Your Bodybuilding Problems - Bodybuilding Podcast Ep. 80
Q: Dennis asks about TRT with hematocrit around 51% and compares TRT-induced erythrocytosis to polycythemia vera, plus thoughts on adding low-dose nandrolone to TRT.
Elevated hematocrit is a known risk with androgens and requires medical oversight. Management includes therapeutic phlebotomy (blood removal) to reduce hematocrit by bags of blood and possibly low-dose aspirin to reduce clotting, though this must be discussed with a clinician. Nandrolone addition to TRT is not ideal due to added toxicity; if used, it should be evaluated in the context of health goals and with caution since bioidentical, health-focused strategies are preferred for long-term wellbeing.
Why Bodybuilders Try But Fail - How to Fix Your Bodybuilding Problems - Bodybuilding Podcast Ep. 80
Q: First question for the podcast today is from Neil, who asks, Dan, can you talk about the power of steroids for maintaining muscle and how a physique will hold for bodybuilders when they go on a cruise for a long period of time, like six months or longer, and good dosages to not lose muscle in general?
Steroids are more effective at maintaining muscle than building it. To preserve muscle off-cycle, you should maintain the strength stimulus by keeping heavy lifts and the same load on the bar, even if you reduce sets/reps. Dosages for cruising discussed include testosterone 250–750 mg per week, with emphasis on bio-identical hormones and monitoring performance versus visuals. A three-week rebound period can help regain cycle levels after a break. Overall, the emphasis is on sustaining the mechanical stimulus and monitoring performance to gauge regression.
