  • Excellent podcast

Tim and Paul have some excellent interview guests and have a healthy scepticism for governments and central banks. They approach investment matters from a value point of view and I think this is a healthy counterbalance to other podcasts who are talking up the latest ‘follow the herd’ ideas.

  • Always enjoy a bit of Zak's doom porn, although speaking as a Shareprophets subscriber, I would not invest in any listed company he is either running or promoting. Regarding Gold, I'd bet on Mucker vs Zak any day of the week:

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#238 Attila Rebak - Investing success with Austrian School Economics
Q: What is Attila's view on central banks and the potential future of money?
Central banks are seen as artificial devices that distort savings and investment; a gold standard or similar anchoring mechanism could be a logical path forward, while some participants debate the role of crypto as a new monetary tool.
#238 Attila Rebak - Investing success with Austrian School Economics
Q: Why does Attila prefer hard assets like gold and silver?
He views them as a distinct form of money that can appreciate across currencies and serve as a hedge when fiat money decays, especially given the risk of monetary policy causing cycles.
#238 Attila Rebak - Investing success with Austrian School Economics
Q: What are the three pillars of Attila's investment philosophy?
Austrian Economics as a framework, value investing to identify undervalued assets, and Investor Psychology to stick to a strategy long-term.
#237 Daniel Bird - Investing in Special Opportunities
Q: Which sectors do you think are most at risk given the current market dynamics?
The automotive industry is showing signs of stress due to competition with electric vehicles.
#237 Daniel Bird - Investing in Special Opportunities
Q: How do you differentiate between investment opportunities and a company that will go bankrupt?
It's about evaluating the restructuring process and understanding the company's potential to survive.
