    I give the host all the credit in the world for his displays of sincere enthusiasm for his subject matter & for his hard work & research. However, I was absolutely bored to tears at times, especially during the Helen of Sparta & the Jason & the Argonauts segments. I finally had to bail altogether in the midst of listening to blabbering Paul Cartledge (who should stick to continuing being an outstanding historian & skip the modern day political analysis) spouting off & spewing ignorant, debunked ... more

  • Strongly recommend, engaging with great content

    Very listenable & very comprehensive.

    Lots of podcasters have the enthusiasm but aren’t engaging speakers and it’s easy to drift off. Whatever it is you need to keep the listener’s attention, this blokes got it.

    On top of that, he knows his stuff and how to frame it. Detailed without getting lost in minutiae
