SNAPPED is a brutally honest inquiry into historically white sororities and fraternities at American universities. After sharing her own harrowing experience as an Alpha Phi sister in season one, host Lucy Taylor passes the microphone to SNAPPED listeners to tell their own stories, illustrating the rampant racism, slut shaming, and abuse that continue to plague these institutions. The result is a plea for parents, college students, and potential new members to hear what sororities and fraternities don’t want you to know. Welcome to SNAPPED: The Podcast. As an Alpha Phi Alum from a small commuter school. I am not only appalled but horrified. Mainly at the fact that you literally have no clue. My husband is also Greek (I’ll leave his house out of it) but honestly I am not sure you have any sea what your talking about
I also heard about your podcast through A Little Bit Culty. I was impressed by your strength and confidence from that podcast which led me to Snapped. I am also Canadian so am not familiar with this crazy, toxic system. I’m so glad I didn’t have to deal with this in my University. It would have made this time in my life so much harder than it already was at an age when I was learning about who I was after all the high school craziness. You are extremely impressive on so many ways and gives me ho... more
Great show. I admire your bravery.
I binged season 1 in one day while moving into a new apartment—this podcast is such an interesting and well conducted production. My college didn’t even have Greek life, but being a grad student + teaching assistant at a private university where Greek life is a HUGE deal, this was a very fun insight into that world
