  • Amazing Audio

You guys sure make it seem hard to get good audio on a podcast. Also, how many flies do I need to buy from you guys so you can afford a new chair? My buddy and I have a weekly bet going about what the first sound of the podcast will be. I always bet “Chair”, and I am doing very well! 😉

The Slide Inn Podcast Ep. 45: How to Fish Spawning Redds
Q: Can you give some advice on how to fish ethically during the spawn?
It's important to avoid actively spawning areas, and if the water is murky, target different locations to ensure you're not disrupting the spawning process.
The Slide Inn Podcast Ep. 44: Junk Flies & How Much Should You Tip Your Guide?
Q: Could you speak briefly about the etiquette of using the guide's tackle?
It's perfectly fine to use your own equipment as long as you communicate with your guide ahead of time to set expectations. Good guides will typically accommodate their clients' preferences and should have backups ready.
The Slide Inn Podcast Ep. 43: The Biggest Changes Kelly Has Seen in Fly Fishing
Q: Is it ruder to deny fishing with clients or to fish alongside them while still tending to their fishing abilities?
It's better to respectfully deny fishing with clients as your job is to focus on guiding and instructing them to improve their fishing skills.
The Slide Inn Podcast Ep. 43: The Biggest Changes Kelly Has Seen in Fly Fishing
Q: What are the best items to buy that offer the most support for the fly shop?
The best items to buy are typically t-shirts and hats, as they have higher profit margins for shops. Items like tip it and flies are also useful, but their margins are lower.
The Slide Inn Podcast Ep. 42: LIVE From The Wretched Mess Festival
Q: What would your advice be for someone looking to get into streamer fishing?
Start with a six weight rod and focus on smaller flies, gradually work up, and emphasize understanding water dynamics and movement.
