  • Great, Relevant and Informative!

Dave Stewart…thank you to you and your crew for compiling one of the best fly fishing podcasts out there. Many great guests and more importantly a drift boat load of very useful information on techniques, life cycles and of course interviews with legends and subject matter experts. No fluff, no wanna-bes or politics. Keep up the great work that you do for fishermen and women all over North America and beyond.

  • Inspiration and Education!

Dave does an excellent job of bringing guest and topics that provide inspiration and education for those of us who enjoy swinging flies. He pulls from all over the world. So, no matter where you are or what fish you’re targeting, there’s something for you. For me, I frequently listen to the Wet Fly Swing on my way to the river. It sets my mood for the day, and gives me some motivation in the continual pursuit of becoming a better angler and conservationist.

  • Great topics and discussions

Dave does a great job interviewing quality guests on relevant fly fishing topics. He covers swinging flies for steelhead and salmon all the way to salt water topics.

I look forward to hearing his new episodes and also save/download older episodes on specific topics for trips like going to the skeena or steelhead alley. Thanks!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kelly Galloup on the Best Streamer Strategies for Giant Trout (CJ's Reel Southern Podcast #8)
Q: What do you think the major differences are between trying to wade fish a river with streamers versus boating?
Upstream fishing is key for wading, allowing more control of the fly and better targeting for trout, particularly in familiar waters where you can read the river effectively.
845 | Feather River Steelhead & NorCal Stillwaters: Lance Gray's Guide-Level Breakdown
Q: Do you have recommendations for electronic devices that work well for finding depth and fish?
Affordable options include fish finders like the Fish Buddy, and some unique gadgets like a Bluetooth sonar ball that relays data to your phone.
845 | Feather River Steelhead & NorCal Stillwaters: Lance Gray's Guide-Level Breakdown
Q: What about the long section of fluorocarbon leader you're using?
I use 20-pound fluorocarbon to avoid imperfections from normal knots that could fail.
845 | Feather River Steelhead & NorCal Stillwaters: Lance Gray's Guide-Level Breakdown
Q: What are the knots that you think are the key for someone new to fly fishing?
The perfection loop is the number one knot for tying your leader onto your fly line, and the Tie Fast nail knot tool is crucial for terminal knots.
The Trout Bum Life with Joe Clark of Trout Yeah Guide Service - Team USA, The Popsicle (Traveled #36)
Q: What do you think was the secret or the X factor to the win?
We put in probably 2500 miles on our rental car, just driving from venue to venue and just putting in as much time as we can.
