  • I understand you need to monetize the podcast, and I respect that.

But lately the balance feels way off — it honestly sounds like 70% ads and only 30% real content. The constant and lengthy ad segments are overwhelming and make it hard to stay engaged.

I’m saying this as someone who genuinely enjoys the show. But if this doesn’t change and the ad load stays this heavy, I’ll probably stop listening.

  • Good content, annoying ads

Great quick tips. But like 50% of the entire thing is ads. Super disappointing money grab :(

  • Too many ads

It could be way better if they didn’t have that many ads on very short episodes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 3423 - Q&A: “How can I compete with unfair Etsy sellers?”
Q: What should I do if listings stay up despite reports?
The host suggests that it can be slow, but reporting and monitoring is the practical path, while also concentrating on improving your own products and visibility rather than depending on enforcement alone.
Ep. 3423 - Q&A: “How can I compete with unfair Etsy sellers?”
Q: How can I compete with these unfair Etsy sellers?
The host notes that Etsy's incentives may not align perfectly with removing violators, but emphasizes reporting violators through the platform's policy, and focuses on long-term strategies: continue making high-quality handmade items, differentiate through value and storytelling, and control what you can influence in your own business.
Ep. 3419 - Q&A: “How to grow a facepainting business?”
Q: Hey Chris, my question is about creating more income streams from this face-painting project and whether I should pursue product-based offerings or scale the service with partnerships.
The answer is to consider both paths: a productized approach (courses or supplies) for scalability, and a service-focused strategy (bundles and partnerships with event planners and photographers) to grow revenue by expanding offerings and leveraging trusted relationships with current clients. The key is identifying needs you can meet for existing customers and building strategic collaborations that lead to repeat gigs.
Ep. 3416 - Q&A: “Is it still a good idea to sell Merch by Amazon?”
Q: Has anything changed with Merch by Amazon and is it still a good idea?
The program can still be active and viable depending on signup status and your ability to execute; it's not guaranteed to work for everyone, but if you can consistently create designs and scale, there are opportunities, especially for those who start early and manage limits by selling a lot of items.
Ep. 3412 - Q&A: “How to share men's lifestyle advice that isn’t toxic…”
Q: What can I do to position myself well and not water down my message while also being welcoming to everyone and avoiding toxic masculinity?
Focus on a clear flagship content piece that defines your mission, create a manifesto or long-form content that deeply resonates with your target audience, and recruit ambassadors to spread the message. Build a structure from flagship content to lead generation to community recruitment, and consider in-person events to strengthen real-world connections without compromising your core values.
