  • Great content, But…

I found the guests and content very informative and I look forward to each episode with such conflicting emotions. On the one hand I derive value from the guests’ stories but the price I pay having to listen to the host’s vocal fry drives me up the wall. So much so, that the last two episodes I cut short and found something else.

  • Shelter podcast

Love all the shopify interviews but the shelter podcast (nov 2025) is an absolute standout- so much so that I searched the review tab - love the transparency, the clean beauty, low tox mission, goals etc etc - everything!!

  • Great guests, not the best hosts

I feel bad writing this but the hosts are so boring. They don’t engage well with the guests, seem interested or even seem prepared for the interview. The editing needs help too. It’s so hard sitting through a podcast.

  • Get a new host

Literally like oh my God, the worst host. Can’t stand her annoying voice. Also the music interspersed within the interviews is all weird. It’s like they’re trying to replicate how I built this, but it is just off.

The Scrappy Outreach Strategy Behind Candier's $14 Million Retail Empire
Q: What practical tips can you share for crafting outreach messages that get replies from editors or retailers?
Keep messages short (three to four sentences), speak directly to the editor, mention specific relevance, and always offer a sample or a clear next-step to maintain momentum.
How Loftie Sold 200,000 Alarm Clocks Without VC Money
Q: How has international expansion affected the business strategy?
Europe became our biggest market in 2025, shifting emphasis from US-centric sales to a more global approach, with growth outside the US driving the majority of physical product sales while US remains a strong base for digital products.
How Loftie Sold 200,000 Alarm Clocks Without VC Money
Q: Why did you choose to stay with hardware and avoid a subscription-heavy model despite VC interest?
Because we care about delivering a product that lasts a long time and genuinely improves sleep, not just extracting recurring revenue; the ethos of the product clashes with those VC-oriented models, and the focus remains on durable, well-made hardware.
How Loftie Sold 200,000 Alarm Clocks Without VC Money
Q: What was the turning point that drove the next cohort of customer adoption?
We shifted from a crowdfunding push to sustained media advertising and strong PR, plus leveraging Wirecutter coverage which provided long-term credibility and ongoing organic traffic.

Q: What first spurred your decision to be open about your mental health?
Lexi explains that growing up with little discussion around mental health and stigma made her crave honesty; she believed openness would help others feel less alone and motivate action.
