  • Too many posts per day

Unfollowed because I don’t need 7 posts a day in my podcast feed. Content is good. Post full episodes not cut up and I will follow again.

  • Love this show

I really appreciate how this show remains balanced. Even though the hosts’ political views sometimes shine through, I admire how Shaye and the guests keep things neutral while holding guests accountable. Your show helps me stay centered politically in a world where it's so easy to lean far right or left. It's such a refreshing change from some one sided news outlets. Keep up the fantastic work, Sara and Shaye! Sorry if I spelt you names wrong

  • Intolerable

Tried, really tried to listen to morning Shaye after Danielle’s firing. Have never heard a more rude, arrogant, interruptive, impatient talk radio host. Shaye is lazy and deadens any enquiry that goes against his narrative. Have switched to 640am (also Corus) and their hosts are informative, welcome debates/discussions and highlight much more of what’s going on in Canada by bringing on unbiased guests. Highlighting all sides and not the regurgitated, Government approved talking points.

  • Repetitive

Keeps having Dan Jones (go to police guy) to regurgitate his same stories over and over and over. Cringeworthy

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Building Alberta’s future with a real sovereign wealth fund
Q: How do fiscal rules affect contributions to the Heritage Savings Fund?
Contributions can only come from surplus cash, with priority given to debt repayment and fund investments, avoiding new borrowing for fund deposits.
Building Alberta’s future with a real sovereign wealth fund
Q: What is the focus of the Alberta fund and how does it differ from the federal Canada Strong Fund?
The Alberta fund aims to grow a substantial reserve to provide annual income and potentially replace dwindling royalties, while the Canada Strong Fund is framed as a domestic infrastructure fund with a more explicit federal tie and borrowing approach.
Canada’s new sovereign wealth fund is ambitious, but its design raises questions
Q: What are the main risks or benefits of privatizing assets to fund the sovereign wealth initiative?
Privatization or asset recycling could provide funding for the fund and potentially unlock capital, but it risks public goods being deprioritized if private actors don't share the government's public-interest incentives, possibly undermining long-term public benefits.
Canada’s new sovereign wealth fund is ambitious, but its design raises questions
Q: What would be the implications if retail investors could participate, given the mandate to pursue strategic investments?
Retail participation would need to be accompanied by clear disclosures about trade-offs: investors might accept lower financial returns in exchange for contributing to strategic national outcomes, which could change how people think about risk and value in these investments.
Canada’s new sovereign wealth fund is ambitious, but its design raises questions
Q: Okay, so let's just go through some of the terms here. Let's start there, real simple. What does a sovereign wealth fund typically look like?
A sovereign wealth fund is usually government-owned, funded by surpluses, and meant to save for future generations, with guidelines that many funds follow globally. The Canadian proposal, however, includes unique elements such as a domestic investment focus and a dual mandate that balances market-rate returns with strategic economic impact.
