  • Why have guests

Why bother having a guest on , when you answer your own questions. Especially when you have David Staples on you treat him very poorly, and really show your self centred bully mentality

  • Content great but formatting leaves a lot to be desired.

I’d love to see you guys reformat content a little bit to fit the podcast format. I hate opening the app and seeing 4 or more clips for the same show. It makes me want to unsubscribe because it pushes my other podcasts down. You certainly aren’t the only sports radio program doing this which makes the issue worse in my view. Y’all please get together and figure this out.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Edmonton Oil Kings Manager, Hockey Broadcasting & Media, and Play-by-play Voice Mat Barrett (7/13/26)
Q: What was your overall take on the 25-26 Oil Kings season?
The season ended a bit earlier than hoped due to injuries, but there were many entertaining moments and several players had standout seasons, with optimism about younger players stepping up next year.
Ayden opens the Friday show from 880CHED, and speaks to David Staples from The Cult of Hockey (07-17-26)
Q: How do you assess the Bowman vs. Athletic rankings of the Oilers' offseason moves?
Staples notes that while Bowman's signings are valuable, there are debates about the upgrade level versus regular-season expectations, and the importance of how players fit into the team's long-term plan beyond numbers.
Ayden opens the Friday show from 880CHED, and speaks to David Staples from The Cult of Hockey (07-17-26)
Q: What did you think about the Todd Fedorek take on McDavid potentially wanting out if the Oilers start poorly?
Staples explains that mind-reading biases and city-specific narratives often distort reality; while rumors are persistent, no one truly knows McDavid's thoughts, and fans should focus on concrete actions and reported moves.
Former Oilers Faceoff Show Host Bryn Griffiths (7/14/26)
Q: What are your thoughts on bringing in Mike Babcock to lead the team?
It represents a needed shakeup after a disappointing season, with leadership groups being challenged to elevate their play and the coaching staff to push for a more demanding, results-oriented approach.
Washington Capitals analyst Al May joins Ayden to talk about the new additions to the team (07-15-26)
Q: Al, how are you viewing the Capitals' off-season moves so far?
Al explains that the team prioritized size, penalty killing, and adding skilled forwards, while also noting concerns about defense and depth but seeing the core growth as moving the Capitals toward contention.
