  • Best recommendation - Prime Times!

I teach middle and high school science and Rebecca has given me the best recommendation of starting class with prime times! It starts us off focused and helps me assess what the students know or need to know better. It also helps remind students of the importance of daily review of science notes and vocabulary. I purchased the biology prime times and adapted them to our curriculum. I also have used the prime time idea to create my own for earth science. I’m so grateful for this podcast!

  • Love this podcast so much!

I am a high school science teacher and I found this podcast a few weeks ago. I am obsessed! I have an hour commute every day and I listen to about 2 episodes each way! I just recently listened to the AHDH episode number 63 and as someone who has ADHD and was just diagnosed (I’m 26), there were SO many helpful tips in that episode that I can’t wait to try! Excited to catch up and listen to all the episodes!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

228. The Lowdown on Labs: Finding, Funding, Prepping, Executing, and Assessing Labs
Q: How do you keep labs on track and fit data analysis into class time?
Use a structured 2.25 day schedule with staggered goals each day, reserving specific days for data collection and separate days for analysis and write-ups to reduce chaos.
206. PRIME TIMES® - Everything You Need to Know
Q: How do you deal with tardies? Do you give them a zero for the day?
For tardy students with a note, I mark it similarly to absent students, and they still get to participate in Prime Times without making it up.
206. PRIME TIMES® - Everything You Need to Know
Q: Are your questions all multiple choice?
No, Rebecca prefers short answer questions that are easy to grade quickly, rather than multiple choice due to complexity in writing good questions.
206. PRIME TIMES® - Everything You Need to Know
Q: My students keep losing their prime time papers. What should I do?
Students are not responsible for keeping up with their Prime Times; they're collected and redistributed the next day, ensuring no one loses them.
206. PRIME TIMES® - Everything You Need to Know
Q: What do they write their answers on?
Students use a blank piece of notebook paper for the entire week, keeping it to reduce waste, rather than using a new one each day.
