  • Anti environmentalist

I used to really enjoy this podcast and I think there’s a lot of useful information and tips Cass gives but she has an anti-environmentalist take on a lot of things and deuces it down to being a perfectionist. I thought that I would be able to continue listening to the show and pick apart the parts I liked and could apply to my life but being a strong environmentalist I no longer want to support creators who think it’s OK to just throw things in the trash when it can be easily recycled. The plan... more

  • If you want to interview someone, please LISTEN to what they’re saying

Please stop interviewing Peter Walsh unless you’re ready and willing to declutter from your head: “Decluttering is *the* mission.” Listen to the man: decluttering is not the mission. The goal is to have clarity on the life you want for yourself and it’s got nothing to do with how successful you can declutter. No wonder he sounded so exasperated! Because his key message is simply not getting through while you kept redirecting the discussion back to what *you* want to hear.

  • Not my cup of tea

I was excited to finally find a podcast that would work for me. And the first 20 minutes were great but the longer I listened, it just completely turned me off. I couldn’t turn it off fast enough. I feel like this podcast is just kind of all over the place. And I completely understand the whole ADHD thing because I also have been diagnosed with that, going on 32 years now. It’s was just way too much for me. It was making me anxious and overwhelmed. She makes weird sounds, weird noises. She’s... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Psychologist's Guide to Overthinking (and How To Stop!) | Clutterbug Podcast #326
Q: What should I do first when overwhelmed by clutter and ruminating thoughts about the home?
Break the goal into mini, manageable tasks and start with the most urgent one, then schedule time blocks to work on it, so you can create a sense of progress without getting overwhelmed.
Is Spring Cleaning a Scam? | Clutterbug Podcast #325
Q: How can I teach my child to be more organized when they resist?
Approach from the child's perspective, frame the task as their idea, praise, and offer potential solutions they can own, then set consequences if needed. Start with small, achievable changes and involve them in choosing simple organizational adjustments.
Fix Your Love Life Now: Discover Your Attachment Style | Clutterbug Podcast #324
Q: Is attachment style something that can change later in life or is it fixed from childhood?
It can change with conscious effort and the right practices; attachment style develops early but is not fixed, and through the five pillars and repeated, targeted work, people can move toward secure attachment.
Why You Keep Buying Stuff: The Reward Behind Thrifting, Yard Sales, and Impulse Buys | Clutterbug Podcast #322
Q: What is a practical first step for someone overwhelmed by clutter in a small space?
Start with a container limit on one area (one shelf or one bin) and empty it fully; then move items that don't fit into that space to declutter, creating immediate visible progress and a sense of control.
Why You Keep Buying Stuff: The Reward Behind Thrifting, Yard Sales, and Impulse Buys | Clutterbug Podcast #322
Q: How can someone with ADHD or high stimulus needs begin to curb impulse shopping without feeling deprived?
Identify the root emotions driving the urge (loneliness, boredom, stress), then pair the urge with safer dopamine sources (connecting with friends, volunteering, or a brief, structured decluttering task) and introduce friction (cash-only days, hiding the credit card) to slow down the purchase cycle.
