  • Need more diverse scrum master experiences

It would be advantageous to have Scrum Masters with experience across various domains, such as banking, pharmacy, and other sectors where software development is prevalent. This diversity would bring a versatile range of working styles and practices to our software development processes, enhancing our overall effectiveness and adaptability as Scrum Masters.

  • The podcast feels like a company trying to promote itself instead of being an entertaining and educational resource. Although this is in English the host and many of the guests have a thick accent that takes away from the show. I would skip this one, there are many other better casts out there.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI vs. Real People—Helping Teams Avoid Information Overload | Havva Sevay
Q: So how do you see that in your work as a coach Havva? Is that happening? That because of the use of AI, coaches and Scrum Masters are bringing perhaps even too much knowledge, too much overload to the team?
Havva agrees there can be overload and suggests strategies to manage it, such as focusing on current needs, using prioritization frameworks, and ensuring teams are not overwhelmed by information.
AI vs. Real People—Helping Teams Avoid Information Overload | Havva Sevay
Q: What do you think is currently the understanding that people have that kind of conflicts with that view, right? Because you're talking about, is it the tool, or is it perhaps something that can solve everything?
The consensus is that people may overestimate AI's capabilities, treating it as magic; in reality, AI should be used for initial queries and filtering, while humans verify and interpret results.
AI vs. Real People—Helping Teams Avoid Information Overload | Havva Sevay
Q: All right, well, let's go for it. How would you describe the topic from today's perspective, from your perspective today, I should say? How would you define what is AI versus real people?
Havva discusses AI as a tool versus believing it can solve everything, emphasizing that real people are unpredictable and coaching by humans remains essential for nuanced decision-making and handling emotions.
From "Scrum Master Is the Secretary" to True Co-Leadership | Havva Sevay
Q: What does co-leadership look like in practice between the Product Owner and the Scrum Master?
Co-leadership means both sharing leadership in a lateral way, with the PO responsible for the technical part and the Scrum Master for the organizational part, ensuring the project can run smoothly with aligned goals.
From "Scrum Master Is the Secretary" to True Co-Leadership | Havva Sevay
Q: What might have been potentially the worst product owner anti-pattern you've witnessed in your career?
