Thanks for talking about Swing High Swing Low. I enjoyed the intelligent approach, too. This was actually enriching.
Really enjoying this podcast - it explores all the films and performers that I love! I particularly appreciate the lovely attention to detail and passion for film history that shines through.
This is such an enjoyable podcast about classic movie actresses. Really well researched, interesting insights and reflections, witty and funny. And most of all empowering, focusing on these women as artists and craftspeople and what they created, rather than the gossip about their personal lives. If you love old movie stars, this is for you!
Love the theme of sisterhood and unwavering self-respect in the face of misogyny. Each new production is more polished than the last while all the stories are compelling. Flesh them out and you have a Hollywood period piece to rival the pre-code pictures the creator discusses in the other episodes.
Keep ‘‘em coming.
Could use just a touch of editing when she stumbles while reading (as we all do!). It’d be great if the podcast was a bit more polished in terms of the audio. Voice is great and content very interesting. Does go a little too long in quoting scenes from movies.

The content focuses on the exploration of women's roles and the narrative styles of films during the Golden Age of Hollywood, particularly between 1929-1959. The episodes feature original radio plays that highlight the complexities, struggles, and aspirations of women in the film industry and society at large. By weaving humor, drama, and historical context, the discussions often center on underrepresented actresses and the thematic elements of 'women's pictures' that address relationships, ambition, and the socio-political landscape of their times. This podcast holds a unique appeal to those interested in film history, feminist narratives, and the dynamics of the entertainment industry during a pivotal era.
