  • Best Sharks content

I’ve been a subscriber for years. So much good information. I love the pod. However the episodes are very long and unstructured so I can’t always commit to a 2-3 hour listen, which leads me to skip some episodes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Celebrini, Smith, Graf’s Next Contracts? | Puckpedia Founder Shares His Thoughts EP 135
Q: What does this mean for Macklin Celebrini's potential contract and future contracts for other top players?
Celebrini will likely command a high percentage of the cap but may opt for shorter-term deals early in his career to keep flexibility, with the understanding that peak value often comes with shorter terms and potential post-ELC UFA years.
Celebrini, Smith, Graf’s Next Contracts? | Puckpedia Founder Shares His Thoughts EP 135
Q: Were you surprised by the size of the Carlsson offer sheet?
Yes, it was surprising to see such a high number on a top player, but given the leverage and environment, it fits the pattern of a league where teams are willing to push for maximum value in short windows.
Wennberg Talks Stenberg, New Sharks, Recovery Secrets | Development Camp Standouts! EP 134
Q: What stood out from Development Camp?
The panel highlighted Stenberg's high-end playmaking and skating, Lin's composed two-way game, and Wang's improved skating in the prospects scrimmage, with cautions about their transitions to higher levels.
Should Sharks Trade for Zach Werenski? | Jason Demers Talks Free Agents, Trades EP 132
Q: What is the strongest argument for and against trading for Werenski?
Pro Werenski: immediately upgrades the top-four and elevates the decor around Macklin Celebrini, potentially making the team competitive sooner; con Werenski: the cost could be too high, risking young assets for a player who may not guarantee a championship within the Sharks' current window, and there are concerns about long-term cap and elasticity.
Eklund Trade Reaction! | Cam Robinson Talks Stenberg, Laila Edwards Excited for San Jose EP 131
Q: What is your expected approach at number two if Stenberg is off the board?
If Stenberg is off the board, Cam or the analysts lean toward McKenna or Reid, favoring a high-upside defenseman who can contribute offensively, with Reid often highlighted for his right-handed shot, skating, and top-pair potential; the choice depends on team needs and the broader draft plan.
