  • Love the passion

Hi Jake, I love listening to this podcast each week (even though we’re all usually suffering with frustration). One favour please, as I don’t watch these episodes (I only listen via podcast), you respond well to the online comments, but as a listener, we usually don’t know what the actual comments are!

Keep up the good work, Hadyn (born in 1967 so technically the oldest living fan without seeing a Saint’s flag)

  • Great insight for an AFL newbie and Saints fan

Got into AFL and following the Saints via comedian Matt Stewart - I love an underdog sports team (I’m an Oldham Athetic supporter) and thought I’d watch a few games. I’ve now been an international member for 3 years and watch the games online. I love this club and the sport now. Can’t believe I’ve lived almost 50 years and not really seen much of it! This podcast and associated YouTube channel provides me with all the pre and post match analysis I need along with hosts that are great to liste... more

Love knowing that people are as upset and affected by the dismal and forever disappointing saints as I am. Well run podcast, good points and good guests. Should have one of these boys run the show instead of the morons that are in charge of the club at the moment.

Job done no fuss | Saints TV Podcast #194 (featuring Brendon Goddard)
Q: What stood out about the midfield leadership and the role of younger players in the Saints' performance?
The hosts highlighted a rising core in Garcia, Nas, Hall, and Wilson as the drivers of pace and pressure, with leadership becoming more about peer impact and on-field example than relying on a single senior figure. They noted the depth adding resilience for several seasons ahead.
Job done no fuss | Saints TV Podcast #194 (featuring Brendon Goddard)
Q: What are Brendon Goddard's thoughts on the balance between VFL development and AFL readiness, and how does the coaching team approach game plan with limited time?
Brendon explained that the balance is managed by focusing on three big buckets (attack, defence, contest) and by keeping the game plan simple and transferable between VFL and AFL. He emphasized collaboration with AFL staff, adaptation to different lists, and teaching a core language so players can transition between levels more smoothly.
St Kilda Season Preview with Leigh Montagna
Q: What do you say to those who expect a grand final appearance within two years?
While that's optimistic, the actual timeline for growth is uncertain and depends on the young core's progression.
St Kilda Season Preview with Leigh Montagna
Q: What is the weakness that needs to be addressed to be a top four team?
The scoring is a major issue, especially winning contests in the front half of the ground.
St Kilda Season Preview with Leigh Montagna
Q: Do you think Tom DeKoning and Nassai Wankanen-Malira will be the best one to punch in the game?
