  • Way too many short clips

As an Irishman living in Africa, RTE is the best source for Audubon news updates, but why can it not be more streamlined. So many short repetitive clips that fill up the playing list.

Please provide a separate option to listen back to the whole show in one podcast. Thanks.

Great to listen to this as an Irishman abroad, even better if the whole show was available to download in one as opposed to parts

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What is the All-Ireland pollinator plan?
Q: Is there still resistance to wild gardens and meadows, or are people happy not to cut the grass when given a good excuse?
There has been a significant shift in mindset over recent years; while some people still prefer tidy gardens, many have embraced a different way of managing the landscape with more wildlife-friendly options.
What is the All-Ireland pollinator plan?
Q: A pollinator pocket every 200 metres, that looks like a tall order, especially in towns and cities. How does that ambition compare to what exists now?
The vision is indeed ambitious, driven by the biology of solitary bees which fly about 200 metres from their nests; the goal is to expand wild and native landscapes through actions like leaving areas wild, creating meadows, planting native hedgerows and trees, and reducing pesticide use.
What is the All-Ireland pollinator plan?
Q: The Pollinator Plan, tell us more.
The plan is a framework that brings together everyone across the island to create a landscape where pollinators can survive and thrive, with ambitious targets for creating pockets of nature every 200 metres and broad actions across farms, councils, communities, and households.
Further US-Iran strikes as Tehran warns of 'broken promises no longer cost-free'
Q: Tell us more about what the US is saying about why it's bombing Iran again.
The US frames the action as a response to Iranian attacks on shipping, tying it to the goal of pressuring Iran while signaling deterrence, though there is uncertainty about the long-term strategy and whether it will lead to de-escalation or further escalation.
Imported fossil fuels met 78% of Irish energy needs last year - SEAI
Q: Do we need a bigger grid to accommodate increasing demand, such as data centers?
Yes, expanding grid capacity is challenging but necessary to meet EU targets and to manage climate obligations, with interconnections and a broader European grid helping to stabilize prices and supply as renewables vary.
