  • Excellent presenters. Podcast has lots of ads.

The show is excellent, but I find the ads repetitive and excessive. The presenters are incredible, though. They handle serious and light-hearted equally well and are a pleasure to listen to.

  • Good show, poor podcast

Could be much better at updating/uploading podcasts. Very sketchy at times. Kieran Cuddihy & Matt Cooper’s teams are far better at this. Sometimes miss Mary Wilson’s forensic questioning and attention to detail: has become a little fluffy. Bring back the radio column by Olivia O’Leary or Joseph O’Connor or similar. Not the best Drivetime show. Light touch.

  • Should be renamed Cormac and friends

Used to listen to RTÉ regularly for impartial news coverage however I find that lately you favour one side of a debate and try steer listeners to think a certain way. A lot of anger in communities about the huge influx of refugees but listening to RTÉ is like entering an alternative universe the only issue seems to be government not spending tax payers money fast enough to house them. The same with climate change never mention the fact the worlds climate has always changed always trying to scare... more

  • Excellent presenters. Poor podcast.

Ads every 5 minutes is insanity and too hard to listen to. This show is publicly funded yet has 20 to 100 times more ads than podcasts of comparable quality or significance eg Echo Chambers podcast.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A novel way to protect your food from prying birds
Q: What could you do with this research going forward?
The team plans to partner with local food vendors to test eyes on real takeaway boxes and to experiment with different eye designs to prevent gulls from learning to ignore the deterrent over time.
A novel way to protect your food from prying birds
Q: Can you walk us through how and why you carried out this research?
Laura explains the field experiment with two takeaway boxes—one with eyes and one without—and how gulls reacted differently, with about half avoiding eyes entirely and the other half gradually becoming less deterred, suggesting individual variation.
Kelly Lynch investigation
Q: What does the state pathologist's latest report conclude about Kelly Lynch's cause of death?
The state pathologist's report concludes that Kelly Lynch died of drowning, noting no evidence of a physical assault or other factors that would definitively indicate foul play, though questions remain about how the injuries occurred and whether other factors contributed.
Travel Q & A
Q: Dee asks whether high jet fuel prices could impact ferry prices, and what that means for cruises booked with pre-paid arrangements?
Calder explains that fuel-related cost pressures can lead to post-booking surcharges on cruises, and over time anything hydrocarbon-dependent tends to cost more, but insurance may still cover disruptions when caused by fuel shortages.
Travel Q & A
Q: Patrick asks if jet fuel prices continue to rise, can his airline cancel a flight a few weeks before travel and rebook at a higher price?
Calder says if flights are cancelled, the airline must offer an alternative, often with more limited capacity, and that travelers should be protected under rights rules; the airline bears the burden to rebook.
