  • Belatedly good

The information provided by the hosts & expert tipsters is insightful and wonderfully useful. I especially like the short segments analysing each race on the card.

What lets this down is that the recordings aren’t uploaded for hours.

If I can’t listen live and want to catch up soon after, you’d think that by 11:30 am I might have a chance. Nope. Beyond then is virtually useless.

  • Speed is of the essence

Hey RSN are you fair dinkum ?

Coz if you are you would have your programs ready to download within minutes, rather than weeks after the races are over

  • Misses the point!

The host spends more time expressing uninformed views instead of interviewing trainers about their horses.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The First Word - Michael Hickmott (25/4/2026)
Q: What do you think about the track condition today and how will it influence which horses have the edge?
I expect the track to play on the better side, likely fairly, which suits horses that can find cover early and then sprint. Draws will matter, and I'll be watching for how the rail holds today as the surface warms up.
The First Word - Mick Price 28/3
Q: How do you feel about Sabaj at Flemington and the 2,000 meters?
Price expresses cautious optimism about Sabaj stepping up to 2,000 meters in the Australian Cup, noting it is a big test and that the race is a wait-for-age scenario with possible limitations.
The First Word - Mick Price 28/3
Q: The best of your chances across the Saturday, Mick?
Price highlights two top chances, especially Mr Ramee ni and Wellwall in Race 9, noting their unlucky run and potential for a strong finish.
John Walter - RSN Snapshot 21/3
Q: In terms of a tip in the race, given the complexity and hours of form study you've done, which horse are you landing on top?
The guest replies that it's a very hard-run race and identifies Streisand, Cheyenne, Wawoven, and another top four as the most setup-friendly picks, with a broader approach likely to yield a wider, more flexible betting strategy.
Michael Kent Jr - First Word 21/3
Q: What are the expectations for the barrier draw and gate position for Guest House in the race?
The draw is seen as a balance; a careful rub out of the gate is planned to avoid over-energizing early, with a desire to secure a good run and cover, aiming for a position around mid-pack with potential to strike from the fence if conditions and pace allow.
