  • Quality

Top drawer podcast, provides strong insight from industry players and pundits. One small observation, while we don’t expect Shakespearean delivery from tipsters, thou shall not commit grievous harm to the English language. It’s versus not “verse”. And you really need to do something about the audio levels on sponsored intros like “early crow” which peak at ear-piercing Everest levels.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Yulong's COO Sam Fairgray On Giddy Up (30/04/26)
Q: So what's the deal look like? Is it just the property or you pick up a few of their mares? How does it all work?
The plan is to take on the Segenhoe property itself, set up a dedicated stallion facility, and keep the existing Nagambie operations running. Horses will travel between properties as needed, with a focus on efficient stallion management and broodmare placement.
Tim Rowe On Yulong Purchase Of Segenhoe (30/04/26)
Q: Was this a surprise to you?
Tim indicates it was not a surprise given the prior market chatter and the lengthy negotiations; he had previously heard discussions and followed the story for years, suggesting the deal was expected to eventually close as the parties aligned on price and strategic fit.
Morphettville Preview w/John Kelton (30/04/26)
Q: Which horses do you see as the X factor for the Derby, and why?
Kelton highlights Accidental Bid as the main X factor due to upside, age advantage, and the way the horse has progressed in similar campaigns, while also acknowledging After Summer as another strong contender based on current ratings and form.
Morphettville Preview w/John Kelton (30/04/26)
Q: How did you see the Sankster finishing and its implications for form into the SA Derby?
Kelton notes the Sankster provided a highly competitive finish that implies stronger form lines for the Derby, especially in terms of measuring a horse's consistency and ability to handle a higher tempo; this race shape informs which horses might peak for the Derby.
Eagle Farm Preview w/Sam Hyland (30/04/26)
Q: Now, do you want my best bet, for Eagle Farm?
Sam Hyland provides a confident selection, highlighting a specific horse and then confirming the bet with enthusiasm, including rationale that ties to previous form and track experience.
