  • Great show!

Even when they are talking about games that aren’t my bag, it’s always worth listening to.

  • How they make the sausage.

I started listening to the backlog after the Jon Hook episode.

Having played in the very session he was preparing for at Chaosium Con 2025, it was neat to pull back the curtain.

Also playing in a wrestling Call of Cthulhu adventure with Molly at the same con, I can attest she’s a top notch player and really elevated the game.

  • Fun show

Neat to listen to what works & what doesn’t in modules, & funny stories of what went wrong in play sessions. Good audio quality.

  • A great resource

This podcast is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Great discussions and ideas that really help the GM improve and run scenarios for Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green. They also provide some wonderful additional resources via their google drive. Love the format. Love the discussions. I hope they continue.

  • Great Podcast - really nailed the keeper advice niche

There are so many actual play podcasts out there and some of them are great but it’s refreshing to see a podcast aimed at actually improving the gaming experience for all involved. I’ve used a lot of what you guys have discussed in my games. Thanks

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S2:E1 – Public Access - Aberration with Jason Cordova
Q: What about turning Public Access into a one-shot?
It can be run as a one-shot, but the creator notes that the game shines best with a campaign structure; for conventions or streams, they often approximate the campaign rhythm in a two-session arc, ensuring players experience the core mechanics and the Odyssey tapes while still leaving room to begin the next installment.
S2:E1 – Public Access - Aberration with Jason Cordova
Q: Can you talk about the system and the day/night move?
The system is PBTA-inspired, using moves like day and night to resolve risky actions or fears, with the keeper guiding the scene based on what the players declare they fear or expect to happen, and the consequences of those actions drive the drama; this structure supports a balance of tension and narrative agency.
S2:E1 – Public Access - Aberration with Jason Cordova
Q: What is Public Access?
Public Access is a tabletop role-playing game about a group of young people in 2004 who revisit a nostalgic, analog-horror setting around a mysterious TV station; the game emphasizes collaborative storytelling, memory-driven backstories, and mysteries that players collectively solve through a structured, yet flexible mechanic system.
S1:E44 – TTRPG Scenario Editing and Formatting - Consultation with XPLovecat
Q: What did you wish you knew when you were starting out in this profession?
I wish I knew that every person approaches the process differently and you need to adapt to the individual writer's style.
S1:E44 – TTRPG Scenario Editing and Formatting - Consultation with XPLovecat
Q: What major differences do you feel there are in approaching an RPG scenario versus having a novel?
The major difference is that when you're writing a novel, it is a prescribed story you are telling to someone, without accounting for player agency.
