We’re back and we’re making stuff up. But so much of the stuff we make up is inspired by stuff other people made up. And sometimes, it turns out, they’re inspired by some of the stuff we made up. Where does it all end? Ah, stuff it. Main Topic: RP... more
We’re back and we’re riding the carousel. Holding onto the handlebars is a bit awkward, however, with all this pricking in our thumbs. Our digits may be warning us that something wicked this way comes, or they could just be telling us we need better ... more
We’re back and we’re mopping up protein spills. What sounded like an innocent sexual innuendo has turned out to be far more scatological than we would have liked. The unpleasant realities of theme parks are so well hidden behind twee language and cut... more
We’re back and we’re smothering ourselves in garlic. While we’ve been assured this will protect us from vampires, we’re wondering if it might just make us more appetising to cannibals. Getting chopped up and roasted in an oven doesn’t seem anywhere n... more

One of the ‘Great Old Ones’ of RPG/ horror literature podcasting, this show goes from strength to strength in its second decade. I am enjoying the new format in which our hosts are joined by a special guest each episode (or pair of episodes) - a nice blending of the familiar and the strange, old friends and new.

Oh how i love this show these hosts. It makes me wish there was a show about the knee popping "adventures of old man vampire Scott!
Every episode is an interesting discussion and after the sad departure of their third host, they now bring guests hosts who just happen to be my favourite roleplayers and people! Ross Bryant AND Josephine McAdam!
Can this show get any better!?
Easy to listen to, great chemistry, and regularly shares ideas that I’ve found myself thinking about weeks later. I’ve listened to many episodes in the back catalogue multiple times.
While it’s sad to see Paul Fricker leave the show, the guest hosts have been a great fit and brought a new depth to the show. I’ve been a listener for four years now, and I look forward for many more years to come.
The hosts of the show are incredibly insightful into Lovecraft’s work and what makes horror work in gaming. Listening to this podcast has been a great resource for my own scenario writing.
Final Update October 2024 With the sad announcement that Paul will be stepping down as host with episode 300, I felt compelled to update my review one last time. It feels as if Balanchine is leaving the New York Ballet. I dearly love Scott and Matt, but i can’t help feel an end of an era upon us. I wanted to share one last time just how important this podcast has been to me. I lost my dad in 2016 to Lewy Body Dementia…and then began to slowly lose my mom to Alzheimer’s right afterwards. It felt ... more
