Happened upon this lovely, cozy podcast while reading Tolkien, and am so thankful to God that I did! Appreciate the enriching, intellectual, humble conversations on worthy literature, and the unaffected voices of the endearing, dignified hosts❣️
Keep going please!
I love this podcast—it introduces me to new books, movies, artists, music, and art forms, and guides me to see familiar aspects of culture in a fresh and deeper way. Rachel is so clear and articulate and also so humble in her approach. This is a podcast that can help every Catholic or Christian see God everywhere. These episodes are worth a listen and many re-listens.
Faith and art are my two favorite things ever. And in this world it’s easy to feel alone when all you want to do is talk about the beautiful links between Ratatouille, The Gospel, and The Lord of the Rings and you’re met with blank stares. Risking Enchantment makes me feel less alone and genuinely fills me up with joy and zeal for beauty in all its shapes and forms. Although its host and all its guests are magnificently intelligent, they don’t let themselves get bogged down with jargon but rath... more

The hosts handle their subject matter excellently and they always seem to have fun together.
I’m delighted to have unearthed this rare gem!
I discovered this podcast through their Brideshead Revisited episode. Although I’m not Roman Catholic myself, I truly enjoy and appreciate the intelligent, thoughtful discussions from the host and her guests.
Humorous, thoughtful, elegant. Truly the most delightful of podcasts. I always come away from an episode of Risking Enchantment with a renewed sense of wonder, an increased desire to be immersed in beautiful things, and conversation starters galore.
So uplifting and enlightening. Enjoy every minute of the thought provoking discussions.
This podcast is wonderful! Every episode is full of insight and true Christian joy. A delight.
They had me at Brambly Hedge! I’m American and adore the series and so do my young kids.
I am so glad I found this podcast - the conversations between Rachel and Phoebe are fascinating and genuinely enriching, and I am learning so much about some of my favourite literature and art. This podcast is encouraging to think quite differently!
This podcast is full of lovely, lively discussion that has had me so engaged that there have been a few times when I've forgotten I'm not in a real-time conversation and nearly offered my own input on a topic! I have gathered so many good recommendations and insights about books and whatnot from each episode I've listened to. Insightful and intellectual, but so cozy and accessible too!
A friend recently introduced me to this podcast and I haven’t been able to stop listening since! I started with the episode on T.S. Eliot and was immediately hooked. Miss Sherlock has such vibrant insight into these great works of literature and it’s an absolute joy to listen to her podcast.
“Risking Enchantment” is consistently delightful, shining new light on classic works both well known & known only by reputation. Sherlock & Watson (& others) inspire me not just to read better books, but also to read books better.
Not too chatty, with plenty of meaty discussion and research on fascinating topics.
I’ve just listened to my third episode and suitably enchanted. This podcast is a great and positive experiment on the thesis that beauty is the most accessible means of being pierced by the touch of God. I recovered my boyhood wonder in the episodes on Roald Dahl and Howls Moving Castle while courage was stimulated (hopefully not only simulated) by the episode on Sophie Scholl and the White Rose. Keep up the great work Rachel, Phoebe and gang
