DeAndre gives concise up to date information on points and miles. He is honest and gives you his real opinions on cards, hotels, planes, destinations etc. He has formed a true supportive community and has zero agenda aside from helping others learn. My #1 podcast.

  • A must for the points and miles enthusiast!

This podcast has added great value to my points knowledge. Deandre adds unique perspective and talks about nuanced topics that other people in the space don’t mention and don’t have experience with. Such as renting an RV in New Zealand and planning a destination wedding. The quick hits are also awesome to stay up to date on what’s new in the points world. Just overall great to listen to.

  • Points and Miles + Finances!

Love that this podcast stays on top of ALL points and miles news, with consistent weekly updates. Love that DeAndre also offers perspective for Business owners and finance strategy as well, which is often overlooked in the points and miles space. I can get equally excited about points and miles news while still implementing new ways to weave together a strategy that will keep my long term financial goals in check. THANK YOU!!!

The Future of Savings & Earning Points? An In-Depth Look Into Symphony With Co-Founder James Berry (Ep. 138)
Q: Can funds be withdrawn quickly if needed?
Withdrawals are near-instant for the majority, with typical processing within one to two business days for traditional banking rails; transfers can be wired or via ACH, and the platform uses USDC as a settlement intermediary.
The Future of Savings & Earning Points? An In-Depth Look Into Symphony With Co-Founder James Berry (Ep. 138)
Q: What exactly backs the 5% yield and where is the money invested?
The 5% comes from a diversified portfolio including Treasury Bills, AAA CLOs, private credit, and overcollateralized lending, with protections like SIPC for certain assets and private insurance for others.
The Future of Savings & Earning Points? An In-Depth Look Into Symphony With Co-Founder James Berry (Ep. 138)
Q: Is the 5% return guaranteed and sustainable as the user base grows?
Yes, currently guaranteed for at least 12-18 months; if changes are needed, users are given advanced notice and Symphony would cover shortfalls from its own margins to protect the user experience.
How Gretchen Planned an Epic 3-Week Singapore & Thailand Trip for a Family of 5 (Ep. 136)
Q: How did you connect all the legs from Raleigh to Southeast Asia without relying on a direct Raleigh-to-Asia leg?
We used a combination of routing through a West Coast hub, specifically Raleigh to Seattle, then Seattle to Singapore, and finally Singapore to Thailand. We relied on flight-search tools like Seats.arrow and FlightConnections to map options, and stayed flexible about where to position before the main long-haul segment. This allowed us to assemble a feasible three-flight route for five people with business-class seats.
How to Book Business Class to Asia for a Family Using Points & Miles with Maria Fung (Ep. 133)
Q: Which airlines should families focus on for Asia travel, and what are the sweet spots?
Key programs include EVA Air, ANA, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, and others. Sweet spots involve leveraging Citi ThankYou, Capital One, and Bilt partnerships to access EVA and Singapore rewards, and understanding Japan Airlines' dynamic pricing to balance costs across six seats.
