  • Very Informative

This podcast is so informative for us. I try to listen to new episodes as soon as available. We are retired. It really helps to be aware of investments and tax implications and social security tips.

Enjoy this episode very much. I do question leaving the meal for a period of time as you end of finishing up a cold meal or re-heating. Might try the Japanese method + eating slower

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

527: Challenging the Conventional Wisdom of Stocks vs. Bonds and Common Retirement Planning Strategies with Edward McQuarrie
Q: Do you consider yourself retired?
I turned out to be a complete failure at retirement.
523: Freedom After 50: Beyond the Pyramid—Rethinking Happiness in Retirement
Q: How does this third level of happiness create resilience and allow us to actually weather those setbacks and failures?
It allows you to open up the space to enjoy those things that you do have, the nice things you do have, not as entitlement, but as an extension of grace and a gift that you've been able to receive.
522: The Six Pillars to Living Longer & Healthier in Retirement with Dr. Bobby Dubois - Part 2
Q: How do I find someone or a quarterback that can help coordinate all these different elements from specific health to body makeup, to mental drivers?
There isn't a traditional service for this. A good primary care doctor can be one approach, but otherwise, you might act as your own quarterback or seek separate specialists.
522: The Six Pillars to Living Longer & Healthier in Retirement with Dr. Bobby Dubois - Part 2
Q: Are there proven natural ways to unclog your arteries?
There is little evidence to show that you can reversely unclog arteries; managing risk factors is generally just as effective.
522: The Six Pillars to Living Longer & Healthier in Retirement with Dr. Bobby Dubois - Part 2
Q: How important is it to use natural approaches, if possible, to manage things like high blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, etc. versus taking medications?
It's beneficial to consider natural approaches alongside medications, but often lifestyle changes alone are not sufficient for managing these conditions in most people.
