Protecting your team’s content, wherever it’s stored—so you can safely use AI
Q: What sets Dropbox apart in its security approach to support AI adoption?
Dropbox emphasizes trust as a foundational feature, integrating security and governance into product design from the start, ensuring AI features respect permissions and visibility for admins while enabling safe, fast innovation.
Protecting your team’s content, wherever it’s stored—so you can safely use AI
Q: How does adversarial testing work and is it automated or human-driven?
Dropbox uses both automated red teams and a dedicated human red team to stress-test models for safety, security, and compliance risks, with ongoing, automated evaluation pipelines tied into model onboarding and development to keep pace with evolving threats.
Protecting your team’s content, wherever it’s stored—so you can safely use AI
Q: What happens to data when Dash is connected to Gmail and flows into the AI, and what can Dropbox access?
Dash only accesses data that the user has granted it access to, and it enforces the permissions of source systems at retrieval, filtering results so that only content users are entitled to see is shown, with ACLs governing both data and its use in AI responses.
Building AI that can search inside videos (and photos and audio too)
Q: Why is search and content understanding so much more difficult with things like video and audio and images compared to text?
The challenge is the sheer volume of data: text is tokenized into manageable pieces, but video adds per-frame tokens plus audio tokens, and you must correlate all modalities, which makes searching across media much more complex.
Building AI that can search inside videos (and photos and audio too)
Q: Is that correct?
Exactly. Because the system fundamentally focuses on content, not just the file name or location, it can locate the specific Berlin scene in nighttime based on the actual content.
