Michael, who I have never met, connects and reconnects me to an array of new contemporary artists working through the lens and through photography, as well as many artists from the photography hall of fame. I find the candor and openness to discuss personal histories informative, refreshing, reassuring and inspiring. I think an alternative show title could be, “The Real MFA”. The subjects selected are diverse, as is their work, and the host asks the kind of questions that get them to open up about the creative process. A good choice for people who want to take deep dives, but if you are just looking for photography tops and tricks it won’t be useful.
