  • So relatable

Listened to my first ep and am disappointed I did not find your podcast sooner. Q&A episode was great and felt seen and heard. As a mum who is 9months post partum with my second bub returning to work in a few months was really validating to listen and know my feelings are felt by many! Thank you

  • Incredible - My Boss Called Me a C***

Love this girls! Thank you thank you thank you. I’m a mother of 2 under 2 (almost Irish twins) who went back to work after my first and was made redundant 2 weeks before my second mat leave. Went back to the same workplace 10 months later in another position and have just been made redundant again. You’ve given me hope and drive and I’m sending this episode to all my working mum friends.

Melissa Reader on the conversation she wishes she had before her husband’s death
Q: If you could go back to the version of you that was just struck by grief, what piece of advice would you go and tell her?
I would want to say to myself back then is even though I felt totally lost, very frightened and almost like disbelieving that this had happened to us, I think being able to tell that woman that you do have the courage, you do have the resilience and actually you will live a very different life.
Melissa Reader on the conversation she wishes she had before her husband’s death
Q: What do you wish that, because I know a lot of your work, which we'll get to now, is about helping families plan for such events?
That denial is something that we are hardwired to remain loyal to as humans, like it's a survival instinct. But when someone is facing the last stages of their life, that is whether that's a younger person like Mauro was with a terminal illness or it's a parent or an elderly in-law.

I remember being the nagging wife for about three months because he just didn't seem himself to me.

Yes, it can help with all relationships as it deepens emotional understanding and empathy.
How to respond when your kid says ‘I hate you’ | Ask Ready or Not
Q: How should I respond when my child says, 'I hate you'?
Acknowledge that these statements are not facts but simply your child's feelings of discomfort or frustration; respond with empathy and understanding.
