Q: What role does choline play in the third trimester and how can listeners meet the requirement?
Choline supports brain development and nervous system function. Requirements rise in the third trimester, and two eggs per day can contribute significantly toward choline intake, with supplements as needed to reach the target around 930 mg per day.

Q: How should listeners handle food aversions without compromising fetal nutrition, and when might supplements be appropriate?
Treat the mother as the expert of her body, honor appetite and preferences, and use supplements as a safety net when certain foods are not tolerable or during difficult pregnancy phases, rather than forcing strict adherence to a single diet.

Focus on increasing protein and iron intake, while ensuring the diet remains balanced with calcium-rich foods and a diverse range of micronutrients. Aim for well-balanced meals that support both fetal development and maternal well-being, with attention to hydration and overall energy needs.
