Karl Marx’s political economy brings me back to to interpret and contextualise ‘Capital’ in new ways.
Your explanation of the concept of ‘socially necessary labour time’ has been very clarifying of questions I’ve been mulling over later on in ‘Capital’.
Thank you Professor Harvey for this podcast - it has been indispensable for me in understanding both ‘Capital’ and Marx generally!
great lectures from a great thinker...
Yet I really wonder why the videos are not competible with iphone...
These series of lectures on Das Kapital provide us with a deep understanding of Marxs valuable analysis of the mechanisms of our world economy. Harvey's close reading is crystal clear and actually demistifies the text. I recomend anyone who is ignorant of economy to go through them for at the end they will feel enlightened and prepared to understand the current crisis.
A much needed resource that has allowed me to finally crack the veil that is 'Capital' and widen my understanding of this critical text.
