  • Raw & Inspirational!

This podcast already has me hooked! It is gut-wrenching to hear the stories and testimonies of the dedicated federal employees who have been illegally fired and at the same time, so inspiring to hear people like Liz and Mikayla fighting back using any means necessary. Their candid approach to covering this topic is eye-opening and I can’t help but feel for each of them and the many others impacted by this. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing, ladies! Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

47: Chrisha Favors - The Radical Homesteader
Q: How did your grandfather influence your path to homesteading and your current work promoting access to nature?
She recalls his immaculate garden, chickens, and the example of land stewardship that inspired her to connect with the land and pursue a life of environmental advocacy.
47: Chrisha Favors - The Radical Homesteader
Q: What was it like growing up in a military family and moving around so much, and how did that affect your views on the world?
Chrisha describes early mobility, periods of shyness, and eventual realization that exposure to multiple cultures and self-reflection through therapy helped shape her sense of place and purpose.
45: From Montana US Forest Service Smokejumper to Congress - Sam Forstag
Q: Sam, what will you do to protect public lands? Will you make sure to not support using the Congressional Review Act to overturn protections?
reinvesting in public lands and public service is right there but below housing and health care; we should not just rebuild it exactly the way it was and that we could actually be saving a lot of money if we invested far more upfront in our public lands.
43: Public Lands & American Hunters and Anglers with Aaron Murphy
Q: What worries you most about the Forest Service reorganization and the CRA proposals?
The concern is that reorganizations and legislative moves could undermine existing protections and accountability, risking chaos and reduced on-the-ground management in public lands.
43: Public Lands & American Hunters and Anglers with Aaron Murphy
Q: Why are hunters and anglers emphasized as a core voice for public lands advocacy?
Because hunters and anglers represent a broad, diverse constituency united by access to public lands and wildlife, and their shared stake in conservation helps transcend partisan divides.
