  • Important Insights

The episode with Beth, the Health Detective, was exactly what I needed to hear. Pain is a message, not something to suppress. The details about bioenergetic testing were really cool. I liked the discussion about the emotional components of pain. Highly recommend this podcast for anyone on a healing journey!

  • Antivax in disguise

Supeficially sounding like a medical podcast (even though many terms used incorrectly if you listen carefully) it quickly drifts into “masks don’t work”, “vaccines are to blame”, “you need to detox” etc. Why the host is licensed is beyond me.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Chronic Pain Root Causes: Inflammation, Stress, Trauma & Toxicity | Stan Kurtz
Q: What do you think pain is, and how does your perspective influence the way you treat it?
Pain is a signal the body uses to communicate needs; it is not purely a mental phenomenon but is shaped by perception and truth-telling from the body, with healing requiring aligning intuition, reducing fear, guilt, and misconceptions about pain being permanent.
Chronic Pain Root Causes: Inflammation, Stress, Trauma & Toxicity | Stan Kurtz
Q: So Stan, for people hearing your name for the first time, how did your own experiences with suffering and dead ends in the medical system lead you into the work that you're doing today?
He describes a journey through traumatic family events and recognition that traditional medicine missed deeper biological drivers; trauma becomes a portal to exploring non-traditional diagnostics and root-cause approaches, including nutrient, toxin, and microbiome factors that can dramatically impact pain.
Active Release Techniques, Nerve Entrapments & The Hidden Drivers of Chronic Pain | Dr. Matt Fontaine
Q: What is your view on the current medical system regarding pain management?
Dr. Fontaine describes the system as broken, particularly in the sequencing of care, where many patients are sent to pain management without first being referred to chiropractic or physical therapy.
Active Release Techniques, Nerve Entrapments & The Hidden Drivers of Chronic Pain | Dr. Matt Fontaine
Q: What do you think pain is?
Dr. Fontaine explains that pain is a primary perceptual experience that only the individual can truly feel, emphasizing the subjectivity of pain and its relation to the nervous system.
Active Release Techniques, Nerve Entrapments & The Hidden Drivers of Chronic Pain | Dr. Matt Fontaine
Q: Could you share how you got into health and the kind of things that you're doing today?
Dr. Fontaine shares his journey of becoming a sports chiropractor, having been involved in athletics, and focusing on sports medicine throughout his career.
