  • Bite sized movie fun

I’m not the biggest podcast person due to the length of the episodes, however, Leigh & Tim’s short episode lengths and to the point and direct (and also light and humorous) approach to talking about movies is very much up my alley. They’re both really nice people too. A nice and easy listen, it feels like you’re just talking with a friend after seeing a movie.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey explores our humanity while delivering on spectacle
Q: How does the film balance spectacle with humanity?
The guest notes that while the film is visually grand, the emotional core—love, longing, loyalty, and the human flaws of Odysseus—keeps the audience connected and invested across non-linear storytelling.
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey explores our humanity while delivering on spectacle
Q: What is it about his films that you love so much?
Thuy explains that Nolan's films combine deep, universal themes with expansive, boundary-pushing storytelling, creating movies that feel both emotionally intimate and intellectually expansive.
Obsession writer/director Curry Barker on success and the type of director he aspires to be
Q: What was a reaction to your film that has stayed with you the most?
Curry shares admiration for Tom Holland and the way influential figures publicly praising the film have created a sense of belonging to a larger cinematic conversation, while affirming the emotional impact of the final sequence.
Masters of the Universe: have Mattel hit another home run?
Q: What stood out most about the balance between campy humor and action?
The hosts felt the film succeeds in keeping a buoyant, campy energy that honours the 80s toy line while delivering big, swashbuckling action; however, the humor can occasionally feel overdone or miscalibrated, pulling viewers out of moments that should land more seriously.
Joe Bird, Adrian Chiarella and Mia Wasikowska talk fear, homophobia and love in Leviticus
Q: Joe, Adrian, Mia, how did you approach the balance between realism and the film's fantastical horror elements to portray a genuine teenage love story?
We focused on authentic emotions and grounded performances, letting fear and identity drive the characters while using the horror elements to amplify their coming-of-age experience rather than overwhelm it.
