  • Solid Pizza Pod

Been following this show for a while and just listened to a quick listen on Bonus Takeout Tips and this really hit with me especially now that my college kids went back and I have training this week. Very good information, no fluff and exactly what I needed. Keep up the good work! Thanks Tyrell!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Troy’s Italian Kitchen Is Growing Through Relationships
Q: What advice would you give to someone with a pizzeria just getting started on social and growth?
Start by tagging multiple suppliers and partners (flour, yeast, water, cheese, sauce) and collaborate with other pizzerias; share authentic owner-generated content and involve customers in videos to build reach.
How Troy’s Italian Kitchen Is Growing Through Relationships
Q: What has been one of the best lessons you've learned over seven years in business?
Customer service is the biggest differentiator; great pizza can be overshadowed by poor service, so greeting customers warmly and using phrases like 'my pleasure' elevate the entire experience.
How Troy’s Italian Kitchen Is Growing Through Relationships
Q: Tell us who you are and where you are and what you do.
Neel introduces Troy's Italian Kitchen in Arlington, Virginia, highlighting vegan and gluten-free options, community events, and a hands-on leadership style that ties team and family into the business.
Giovanni Labbate on Premium Pizza, Food Trucks, and Tievoli Pizza Bar
Q: Why not discount heavily—how do you maintain perceived value?
We invest in the product and education; the dough process, hand-stretching, and high-quality ingredients justify pricing, and we communicate that value to customers through in-store experiences and social channels.
Giovanni Labbate on Premium Pizza, Food Trucks, and Tievoli Pizza Bar
Q: What makes your growth path—from truck to brick-and-mortar—work in practice?
Starting with a food truck allowed validating demand and learning operationally; the restaurant then acts as a support and a showcase, helping with catering and brand-building, while the truck remains a high-value marketing and experience tool.
