The world of podcasting is with some justification dominated by the product our American cousins the dificulty this reviewer has with this large majority of product is that with a few exceptions there is just too much facile generalization, an absolute obsesion with the latest equipment and overly simplistic how to's. On the other hand Photographica offers a mature intellectualy stimulating discourse in relation to the art and philosophy of the subject and dare I say it all in English!
Alex, love the podcast. I especially enjoy your rambles along Portobello Road, which I visited once a few years back. I almost feel like I'm there again. Your latest really caught my ear, not so much because of your tirade against Trump and BREXIT (for which you have my sympathy) but because of the comment you made about taking photographs for the love of it. I get that photography has been commoditised and socialised in this day and age, and your little reminder of the raison d'être of our art ... more
