Haley and Sean reflect on life with our delightful (and delightfully weird) blue heeler Scout. Since adopting her in 2019, we’ve trained through fear-based dog reactivity, fostered multiple shelter dogs, dealt with idiopathic epilepsy, and navigated so many ups and downs in between. In January 2023 we hit the road for full-time van life! We hope our blunders and realizations can encourage fellow d... more

I was with my ex the first time I tasted a peanut butter pie crust sundae. At that time he was not my ex, of course—he was my very new boyfriend. I was the perfect age to shout-sing Taylor Swift (when you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love y... more

Sean and I don’t regularly wear wedding rings. (The ones we do have are cheap nontraditional bands.) Our ceremony was short and, to be candid, kind of not a big deal. He did not only see me in my dress before our vows—he actually found my dress in th... more
I rescued a blue heeler two days after Christmas and spend the night scrolling for help with a terrified quivering bundle on my lap. If I hadn’t found Haley and Sean and the unflinching documentation of their journey with Scout (here and on Insta) I may have re-traumatised my dog by returning her to the shelter. We’ve got a long journey ahead of us but I absolutely know that we’ll make it because of these generous and inspirational people.
Me and my boy Vinny (the Vizsla- Vinny Down Under) follow you on Instagram we love your posts/updates and we hope to be able to get the same balance you guys have in life. Thanks for starting a podcast, we’ve been missing your Insta lives because we live in Australia and timing wasn’t always good for us.
Blog subscriber here! You guys are some of my favorite people on social media and one of the only blogs I actually read 😆 LOVE that there is now a podcast as well. Would love an episode on how you found what fulfilled your dog’s needs. I have a mixed breed dog that does not take any interest in what most dogs of his breed(s) enjoy doing and would like to hear another dog owner’s experience :)
