Unconscious Bias, Responsible AI, and the Future of Workforce Decisions
Q: What simple steps would you give smaller firms to address unconscious biases in hiring?
Use anonymized screening to remove name/photo cues, build diverse interview panels, collect and discuss candidate feedback transparently, and give decision-makers more time to shift from gut reactions to rational analysis.
Unconscious Bias, Responsible AI, and the Future of Workforce Decisions
Q: What size are you at now and how do you see MeVitae evolving in the next couple of years?
MeVitae is around 20 people and has been doubling year over year. The aim is sustained organic growth, expand enterprise deployments, deepen the responsible AI framework, and continue integrating data across HR systems to scale impact while preserving culture.
Unconscious Bias, Responsible AI, and the Future of Workforce Decisions
Q: Talk to me a little bit about how you actually started, did you get some funding? Did you have investors initially?
We bootstrapped initially with no external funding while I was finishing a PhD and Vivek had just graduated. We prioritized building clients and revenue before seeking investors, used grants to fuel early development, and then attracted strategic board members and equity investors as traction grew.
