  • Misinformation left unchecked

Like too many podcasts that dip their toes into JFK’s assassination the host lets guests make unfounded assertions that are reflections of their political ideology; piggybacking misinformation onto worthy pursuit of JFK research. The host lets these lies go unchallenged. I unfollowed the show because I cannot trust the host to monitor their own content. Additionally, the host books guests who are not primary researchers, rather people who draw conclusions from others work and are not necessarily... more

I was surprised to hear Judge Tunheim say that he sees no evidence to prove anyone but Oswald’s involvement. I was also surprised that Tim or you did not push back on that statement. I can understand Samoluk not protesting because he sucked up to the judge through the entire episode .

  • Gerald Posner

It was fantastic to hear Gerald Posner be the adult in the room. Oliver Stone and other conspiracy theorists have done a major disservice to the General Public. Oswald was the only one shooting that day. If your mind is even 10% open read Posners Book and watch Peter Jenning’s Documentary from 2003.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#1823 - Thomas Schwartz & Luke Nichter
Q: How did Johnson's perception of public opinion influence his decisions on Vietnam?
Johnson was highly responsive to public opinion and used media messaging to maintain domestic support, especially during election years; this pressure often constrained bold moves and pushed him toward more cautious, incremental steps toward settlement.
#1823 - Thomas Schwartz & Luke Nichter
Q: What turning points did you identify as pivotal in Johnson's approach to Vietnam?
A key turning point was the shift from viewing Vietnam as an asset to a liability, with the Fulbright hearings and media coverage pushing Johnson to reassess escalation and consider a more negotiated settlement rather than pursuing military victory.
#1822 - Kevin J. Wetmore
Q: Can you talk about the evolving role of sequels and franchises in horror today?
Sequels must broaden the narrative and deepen characters without discarding what made the original work scary. When done well, they expand the universe; when not, they become hollow echoes that erode audience trust and enthusiasm for the franchise.
#1822 - Kevin J. Wetmore
Q: How do you view the relationship between budget and fear in horror cinema?
Budget isn't the sole determinant of fear; inventive storytelling, character investment, and signaling of danger can make low-budget horror incredibly effective. Big budgets can help, but crowding out imagination with effects often reduces the psychological punch that makes horror lasting.
#1822 - Kevin J. Wetmore
Q: What first drew you to study horror, and how has that shaped your approach to teaching and writing about the genre?
I'm drawn to horror because it's a lens on human fears and stories we tell ourselves about control, mortality, and meaning. In teaching, I emphasize cultural context, audience psychology, and the way horror can illuminate social and personal truths beyond just scaring people.
