Opera is a wonderful, sometimes amazing art form. But learning about it can sometimes seem like doing homework.
Not with this podcast though. This is great for learning about Opera in general, and for learning about Opera current events. The people involved are knowledgeable, but don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s informative, but also fun.
Great info and passion for opera. The sports theme makes it fun. I especially enjoy Ashley’s insights!
I look forward to episode releases: I’ve learned so much from this program, and have been inspired to continue learning more about opera, opera history, and the arts! Highly recommend! This podcast is inclusive: great for newbies like me, to people who have always held a passion for opera and its community!
This is such an important show for the university student. The stories are inspiring and the knowledge base on here (shoutout to Matt Cummings) is challenging. I look forward to entering into the professional world, now that I feel that I “know” so many additional people!

A lively, conversation-driven show that bridges opera with pop culture, sports, and current events. Episodes frequently feature singers, composers, and industry insiders discussing performance practice, casting, finances, and marketing, often with a Chicago opera lens. A notable strength is blending deep opera knowledge with accessible banter and cross-disciplinary topics (e.g., sports, Olympics, figure skating), which can attract both opera aficionados and curious newcomers. The format tends to spotlight preparation, rehearsal anecdotes, and industry headlines, making it useful for listeners who want both artistic insight and timely industry chatter.
