  • If you’re getting into detecting, listen to this.

I’m new to the hobby and nobody in my life is really all that excited haha. Listening to this show is like chilling with my uncle who gets my hobby. I hear amazing stories, get tips, and I feel like we’re just on the porch having a drink and chopping it up. This man sounds sweet to the bone. Keep going! This newcomer feels more confident because of this show. Much love!

  • Life is always one more dig

When you want to be reminded of how hobbies are important in your life and the benefits that come with it please take time to listen to this podcast. My son and I listen to each episode and talk about how we want to grow to be better in the hobby! The tag line of “one more dig” means more to me and my son than the obvious of digging the last signal it pushes us to both take one more step in anything we do…even if it is ice cream after a hot summer hunt!

Thanks Dave and keep it up!

  • Entertaining metal detecting podcasts

I started listening to Dave’s stories and tips and couldn’t stop. Although I am in a different country to him I found the podcasts related to my area as well. Keep up the good work Dave.

Beach Conditions in Northeast Florida with Clark
Q: Clark, could you walk us through what you've been dealing with the last few months and how the sand conditions have affected your hunts?
Clark explains that the coastline has been consistently sanded in and replenished in waves, with some beaches delivering little to no signals despite hard work, while others show fresh drops as sand shifts with seasonal winds and storms. He emphasizes differences between sites like Frederick Douglass and Jensen Beach, noting that dredging and replenishment can both obscure and expose targets, and he shares strategies for adjusting detector settings and hunting near the waterline and high-traffic access areas.
My Team's Yearly Finds Competition
Q: How does the group handle potential disputes over whether something counts as a particular item?
There is a formal bylaw system and an organizer (the team leader) who makes the final decision, aiming to keep the competition fair and enjoyable for everyone.
My Team's Yearly Finds Competition
Q: What are some of the key rules that shape the competition today?
Rules include each member selecting five items with no more than one non-metal item, items must be metal-detectable, and a single metal detector must be in hand to count, with the final tally determined by points and an annual 'find of the year' plaque.
My Team's Yearly Finds Competition
Q: How did this finds list competition start and why was it created?
Clark explains that the team wanted a fun focal point for their hunts, turning the activity into a year-long challenge with five designated finds per member and a formal rule set to avoid disputes.
