  • Off Topic

Ep 471 strayed way off topic. Talking about the Middle East not relevant to the NZ property market.

  • Everybody should listen

Each and every episode is packed with interesting information delivered in such an informative and easily digestible way. Darcy has a breadth of information and with a great mix of guests is able to get depth also. I won’t miss an episode and don’t think you should either.

  • Refreshingly Candid

Darcy has a knack for talking about personal finance in a refreshing way that isn’t just recycling the same tired talking points. He’s comfortable “looking behind the curtain” and challenging ideas that might not hold true in a new market. Would recommend 100%.

Vanessa Williams / Property Sentiment Just Changed Ep 494
Q: Do you think that we're going to see a world where it worked really similar to the last 10, 20, 30 years, where property prices roughly double every 7 to 10 years?
I believe that we're going to continue to see growth because the reality of it is people's incomes do go up, and over time, they have the ability to borrow more.
Tim Doyle / The IRD Is Watching Your Wallet, Ep 493
Q: What does the new ruling from IRD regarding staking mean?
Staking rewards are considered taxable income at the value at the time they are received, creating potentially multiple taxable events.
Tim Doyle / The IRD Is Watching Your Wallet, Ep 493
Q: Do you want to just set the scene in terms of how crypto is generally taxed in New Zealand?
In New Zealand, crypto is taxed as personal property, leading to complex tax obligations for many investors.
Kelvin Davidson / New Bank Rules to Juice NZ Property? Ep 492
Q: What would be your view around how low the official cash rate goes from here?
I think it would feel a little bit odd to finish with a half percent cut, because that's a pretty chunky sort of fall in the OCR, as well as the Reserve Bank's pretty much said in their statements that the exact words are something like, they're open to more cuts.
Tony Walker / Beat The Bank, DIY Retirement. Ep 489
Q: What should retirees consider about their investments as they approach retirement?
Investors should prioritize liquidity and consider how quickly they can convert assets to cash to meet their living expenses in retirement.
