Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 11 ratings
  • A starting point

A good start, but missing the level of detailed questioning that an investor needs to separate the signal from the noise. For example, more questions on unit economics, pushing on assumption of 90% FOAK capacity factors, and understanding next steps in the licensing process (DOE vs NRC) would be helpful

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#28: Texas Nuclear Summit Series - Rod Adams | Democratizing Access to Nuclear Venture Capital
Q: Can you describe the rolling fund model and why it appeals to modern investors?
The rolling fund is designed to lower barriers to entry—smaller quarterly contributions, ongoing participation, and a clear path to private deals—while using AngelList to provide a structured, transparent experience and accredited-investor compliance.
#28: Texas Nuclear Summit Series - Rod Adams | Democratizing Access to Nuclear Venture Capital
Q: What was the bridge from advocacy and education to becoming an investor?
Rod explains that the shift began from writing a paper newsletter and a blog to sharing information online, which led to conversations that evolved into investment partnerships. The pivotal moment was meeting Valerie Gardner, which helped formalize the investment vehicle and strategy.
#22: $6 Trillion by 2050 | Nuclear's Roadmap to Mainstream Finance with Lola Infante
Q: Lola, why don't you first just walk us through the three-phase journey here outlined in the roadmap?
The roadmap uses a simple three-phase maturity model to show how nuclear finance can mature: Phase 1 is strategic capital where government and utility balance sheets dominate and project replication is low; Phase 2 is catalytic capital with more standardized frameworks and growing private participation; Phase 3 is mainstream finance with widely understood risk pricing, liquid markets, and broad institutional investment, though governments remain a backstop.
#14: Jake Jurewicz of Blue Energy | Prefab Nuclear and the Path to Project Finance
Q: Jake, I want to jump back to the debt please quickly. Can you share what the debt structure looked like for the $380 million raise?
The debt was structured creatively to move debt onto long-lead equipment and fixed-price modules, using collateralized equipment finance to reduce cost of capital and enable earlier participation by debt markets, with a strategy that decouples first-of-a-kind risk from the first power by enabling a plant to begin operation in a staged fashion.
#11: Financing New Nuclear: Inside the DevCo Model with NEI's Benton Arnett
Q: What makes the development company model appealing for first-of-a-kind nuclear projects?
It creates an independent entity to bear early construction risks, build a focused supply chain, and accumulate learning so later units can be cheaper and faster to deploy, while potentially allowing customers to participate without loading all risks onto their own balance sheets.
