I don’t know how I found this podcast, but I’m glad I did. Every week I’m taken on someone’s unbelievable journey through heartache through mind blowing and gut-wrenching personal stories of those who have been near death, who have lost everything and eventually have overcome, and fortunately for us have lived to sit down with this exceptional host. Listen as each person describes the details of their lives from their childhood to what their last drink or overdose was like to eventually what re... more

  • Great Representation

It’s pretty rare to hear podcasts based on trauma and addiction with majority of male guests, so I’m really loving this one so far. As a lady, I have encountered numerous men struggling with inner demons. I hope podcasts like this can help men feel more comfortable discussing addictions, egos and mental health. Love this pod, the hosts and the guests!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

“I Lost Everything to Heroin… Then This Happened” | From Addiction to Recovery
Q: What happened in the hospital when you got septic and how did that change your outlook?
The septic infection and emergency surgery were pivotal, catalyzing a shift toward discipline, fitness, and faith as core pillars of recovery.
“I Was a Homeless Meth Addict & Prostitute… Now I Help Others Heal” | Betty’s Redemption Story
Q: What did day one of your seven-year journey look like, and how did you sustain recovery afterward?
She explains that day one began with a near-miraculous encounter on a train leading to a 12-step meeting, followed by a long, structured path of meetings, inpatient treatment, and building a stable recovery network.
“I Was in Psychosis for 14 Days… Alone” | From Cocaine Addiction to Recovery
Q: What advice would you give someone still sick and suffering?
Go to treatment if you have a chance, pull the plug on old patterns, seek real-time support from someone with time in recovery, and be willing to surrender control to the program to rebuild a sober life.
“I Was in Psychosis for 14 Days… Alone” | From Cocaine Addiction to Recovery
Q: What role did treatment play in your recovery, and would you have benefited from it earlier?
Treatment was essential for breaking the cycle of denial and enabling a reset, but I had to hit bottom and experience the consequences before I was ready to commit. Earlier, my ego and money access would have prevented real change; treatment offered safety, structure, and community.
“I Was in Psychosis for 14 Days… Alone” | From Cocaine Addiction to Recovery
Q: What was the hardest part of early sobriety, and how do you stay on track today?
The hardest part is taking direction and being honest, even when it's painful or you want to run your own program. A steady sponsor and daily choices to stay present in sobriety, along with working the steps, keeps me on track and prevents relapse.
